What makes this opportunity unique

Largest medical center in the world: Access to resources and mentorship at the Texas Medical Center. The Texas Medical Center includes prestigious institutions, such as MD Anderson, Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children’s, Methodist, CHI St. Luke’s, UT Health, and Harris Health.

The Biodesign process: Founders are guided through a proven innovation approach, which consists of three stages: identify, invent, and implement. We also put our spin on the process to best leverage our resources and most optimally develop your startup.

Unique environment for entrepreneurs: Founders will be creating their solutions in the former Nabisco cookie factory, a community of startups, mentors, and partners in the Texas Medical Center that provides a collaborative environment for growing a new healthcare venture. In addition, TMC Innovation houses Johnson & Johnson Innovation’s JLABS @ TMC incubator, J&J’s Center for Device Innovation (CDI @ TMC), and ABB Robotics for Healthcare, each accessible to Biodesign founders.

Prototyping support: We provide resources and prototyping funding for each team to iterate and get your ideas off the ground. Prototyping facilities at Johnson & Johnson Innovation’s JLABS and CDI are available to founders.

Financial support: TMC Biodesign founders will receive a stipend in addition to health benefits. Teams will also have access to seed money for early startup costs.
