Trauma survivors share their stories of triumph at annual celebration

Harris Health System hosted its annual Trauma Survivors Celebration May 14. The event recognizes the remarkable triumph and recovery of patients treated at Ben Taub and Lyndon B. Johnson hospitals, facilities with Level 1 and Level 3 trauma centers, respectively. It reunites patients with doctors, nurses and other members of their hospital care team, and in some cases, first responders.

Ben Taub and Lyndon B. Johnson hospitals are vital parts of the Houston and Harris County emergency response system. Both facilities treat nearly 180,000 emergency patient visits annually, a large number of which are trauma cases.
