TMC Broadens Support of Houston Start-Ups with the Launch of Innovation Labs @ TMC
(Houston) – Texas Medical Center (TMC), the largest medical complex in the world, today announced the launch of Innovation Labs @ TMC – a state-of-the-art 34,000 square feet laboratory and life science office hub dedicated to advancing life science start-ups and fueling innovation across the region.
Housed in the TMC Innovation Factory and scheduled to open in January 2026, the hub will be fully managed by TMC, its builder and owner. Through Innovation Labs @ TMC, the Texas Medical Center can help meet Houston’s growing need for life science real estate and resources, while reinforcing TMC’s commitment to ground-breaking discoveries.
“We have witnessed an incredible demand for life science space, not only at the TMC Innovation Factory, but also on the TMC Helix Park research campus,” said William McKeon, president and CEO of the Texas Medical Center. “Innovation Labs @ TMC enables us to meet this rising demand and continue reshaping how early-stage life science companies grow, connect, and thrive.”
With the introduction of Innovation Labs @ TMC, the Texas Medical Center will expand its footprint and open its doors to a wider range of life science visionaries, including global start-ups in the TMC BioBridge program, current Innovation Factory residents, and future entrepreneurs.
All tenants will benefit from stronger integration with the TMC Innovation Factory’s core offerings – including the TMC Health Tech accelerator, TMC Center for Device Innovation, and TMC Venture Fund – to advance their trajectory and propel their growth.
Since 2015, the TMC Innovation Factory has hosted over 450 early-stage ventures in digital health, medical devices, and therapeutics, providing everything from infrastructure to clinical trial connections. Twenty-three of these companies were directly co-built by TMC.
