The Menninger Clinic Launches New Adult Partial Hospitalization Program as a Link Between Outpatient Therapy and 24-Hour Care
HOUSTON (August 19, 2025) — The Menninger Clinic, one of the nation’s leading psychiatric hospitals, today announced the launch of its new Adult Partial Hospitalization Program, designed for individuals who are transitioning out of residential treatment or who need more intensive support than traditional outpatient therapy can offer. The four-week program offers a structured schedule and an intensive level of treatment during the day, while allowing participants to return home each evening.
“Our new Adult Partial Hospitalization Program fills a critical gap in the mental health care continuum,” said Armando Colombo, president and CEO of The Menninger Clinic. “By intervening early and intensively, we can help patients regain control of their mental health while maintaining their independence and surrounded by the support of family and community.”
The program combines evidence-based therapies, including dialectal behavior therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), as well as experiential therapies. Patients participate five days per week in full-day programming focused on building coping skills, medication management and promoting long-term recovery.
Adults 18 and older who are at risk of self-harm, have exacerbated mental health symptoms such as depression, anxiety and substance use, and are experiencing a decline in function in their day-to-day lives can benefit from this new program. The program may be eligible for insurance coverage, and The Menninger Clinic is in-network with most insurance plans.
The latest addition to Menninger’s continuum of care underscores the organization’s commitment to innovation and accessibility in mental health services. The Adult Partial Hospitalization Program will complement other outpatient and inpatient offerings at Menninger.
