2018 Sepsis Awareness Day Symposium

The Sepsis Awareness Symposium is a combination of didactic presentations and discussions to enhance learner competency and performance, with the goal of improving care in patients with Sepsis.

Target Audience & Learning Objectives

This course is designed for physicians, advanced acute care nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, respiratory therapists, administrators, and quality officers.

Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

  • Define Sepsis and Septic Shock and understand the extent of the problem
  • Describe different modalities in treatment of Sepsis
  • List current guidelines in Sepsis care management
  • Recognize role of quality initiatives for improving sepsis mortality

Activity Evaluation

A course evaluation will be provided to attendees to allow them an opportunity to comment on the value of the activity content in relation to their practice decisions, performance improvement activities, or possible impact on patient outcomes.  Participants will also have the opportunity to comment on any perceived commercial bias in the presentations and identify future educational topics.
