The sound of the school bell is just weeks away from ringing across Greater Houston. UT Physicians has you covered for updating immunizations and obtaining some school supplies.

State Rep. Armando Walle will be hosting Back to School Immunization Day on Saturday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to noon at UT Physicians Multispecialty – Jensen.

The clinic, located at 2620 E. Crosstimbers Street, Suite 100, Houston, TX 77093, will provide no-cost immunizations for children in preparation for the upcoming school year. This is the third year the Jensen clinic has hosted this back to school event.

“In the past, Immunization Day has been a widely attended event at our clinic in north Houston,” said Andrew Casas, chief operating officer for UT Physicians and senior vice president of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). “We’d like to continue that tradition and encourage the public to attend. Along with immunizations, children will receive healthy food, courtesy of Houston Food Bank, and a backpack filled with school supplies.”

Parents are asked to bring a copy of their child’s immunization records to ensure they receive only the necessary shots. The event is free for students under 18 who lack insurance or are underinsured. Supplies are limited to the first 100 participants.

“I am honored to co-host this year’s UT Physicians Immunization Day. UT Physicians has been committed to create a community of healthy children,” said Rep. Walle. “This event will provide free vaccinations ensuring children are ready for their new school year. I encourage families to participate at this important and fun event.”
