Houston, Texas – The John S. Dunn Foundation is pleased to announce the election of two new trustees to serve on its Board of Trustees: Ms. Cynthia J. Adkins and Ms. Terri Lacy.

Ms. Adkins is a lifelong Houstonian with strong involvement with our city’s educational, medical and other community organizations. She earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Texas at Austin. Professionally, she currently serves as Executive Director of TIRR Foundation, which supports research for spinal cord and traumatic brain injury. In the community, Cynthia has held leadership roles at The Junior League of Houston, The Kinkaid School, Episcopal High School, The Harris County Hospital District Foundation, and The Vivian L Smith Foundation. She and her husband, John, have four children and two grandchildren. Cynthia’s favorite pastimes are spending time with her family and traveling.

Ms. Lacy is currently Partner at Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP in Houston, Texas. She earned her B.A. with Highest Honors in History and French with Departmental Distinction in History from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas and earned her J.D. degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law, Dallas, Texas in 1978, where she graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif, Lord Chief Baron (President) of the Order of Barristers, Outstanding First Year Law Student, and was Managing Editor of Southwestern Law Journal. Terri is a member of the Texas Bar Association, Best Lawyers in America, Texas Super Lawyers, Band One Ranking by Chambers and Partners. Terri has leadership roles as Director/Secretary-Treasurer of The George and Barbara Bush Foundation, Director of Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, Director of The Kinkaid School Endowment Fund, Inc., Corporate Member of Memorial Hermann Health System, Director of The Weatherhead Foundation, and Trustee of Morehead-Cain Foundation.

The Dunn Foundation is a private foundation established in 1977 by businessman and philanthropist, John S. Dunn. The Foundation provides financial support to charitable organizations, primarily in the greater Houston area, with a focus on supporting healthcare clinics for the underserved, mental health programs, medical research, and healthcare education. The other trustees of the Dunn Foundation are Charles M. Lusk, III, Dan S. Wilford, J. Dickson Rogers, John R. Wallace, and David G. Key. Also, serving as Trustee Emeritus are John S. (Steve) Dunn, Jr., and Dagmar Dunn Pickens Gipe.
