Psychiatrists nationwide have selected The Menninger Clinic as the #3 best hospital in psychiatry as reported today by U.S. News & World Report. This marks the 28th consecutive year that The Menninger Clinic has ranked as a Best Hospital by U.S. News & World Report, equaling the number of years the rankings have been published. Advancing two spots in this year’s rankings, Menninger continues to be a top referral choice for psychiatrists in Texas and beyond.

“Our mental health professionals are committed to providing the highest quality of evidence-based treatment–the care that patients want and need, when they awant and need it. Our research on treatment outcomes demonstrates that our patients get better and stay better with Menninger care,” said Dr. C. Edward Coffey, president and CEO of The Menninger Clinic.

In psychiatry, the rankings distinguish the best hospitals for patients experiencing difficult-to-treat disorders, according to U.S. News & World Report’s survey results over the past three years from physicians board certified in psychiatry.

“We appreciate all of the psychiatrists and other clinical professionals who refer clients to Menninger for our comprehensive team-based assessments and treatment,” added Coffey. “Our entire team strives to provide the best care environment–the right care in the right way. Achieving a top three ranking is a tremendous recognition of the expertise and dedication of Team Menninger.”

Menninger’s inpatient services include assessment and stabilization programs for adolescents and adults as well as programs offering individualized treatment for emerging adults, professionals, and adults who have not made the desired gains in other levels of treatment. Typically inpatients at Menninger have had previous hospitalizations and multiple courses of outpatient care for complex disorders.

With the goal of providing comprehensive continuity of care, Menninger’s outpatient services team currently treats patients of all ages and will expand capacity with the 2018 completion of a new $16 million outpatient and education center. Recognizing the importance of early intervention, Menninger also offers 4.5-day comprehensive assessments that provide psychological testing, autism screening, medication review and other diagnostic testing for children and adults who are experiencing undiagnosed symptoms at home, school or work.

With its long track record of national Best Hospital rankings, The Menninger Clinic stands among the iconic Texas Medical Center institutions that have consistently been recognized by U.S. News & World Report.
