Elsa, Texas Children’s Furry Therapist, Turns Two!
Patients, friends, family and Texas Children’s Hospital staff gathered Feb. 23 to celebrate a very special team member, Elsa. She is the first full-time therapy dog at Texas Children’s and in the time she has been putting in her eight-hour days at the hospital, she has made a huge impact on everyone there.
On Thursday, Elsa was surprised with a birthday party thrown by all of her friends at the hospital to celebrate her second birthday. In true party fashion, the birthday girl wore a pink tutu, party hat and birthday bandana. Guests at her party also wore festive hats and brought new toys and treats for Elsa in addition to decorating cookies.
Elsa also got a sweet treat—a dog-friendly cake baked by Three Brothers Bakery in the shape of a dog bone.
We wish Elsa many more happy birthdays!
