Fourth State of the Science Cancer Survivorship Research Symposium

The goal of the symposium is to increase awareness of an emerging sub-specialty in oncology –survivorship care of post-treatment cancer patients.

Educational Objectives

After attending the symposium, participants should be able to
Provide trends, opportunities, or challenges posed by survivorship science to improve outcomes of long-term cancer survivors (Knowledge, Competence);
Assimilate and translate new research findings to improve providers’ practice and survivors’ quality of life (Knowledge, Competence, Performance, Patient Outcomes);
Extend knowledge and competence of providers and researchers in advancing cancer survivorship research (Knowledge, Competence, Patient Outcomes);
Demonstrate appropriate multidisciplinary collaboration for research studies that will ensure delivery of evidence based practice and care for cancer survivors (Knowledge, Competence, Performance, Patient Outcomes);
Identify directions for future research to promote safe and high quality survivorship care related to late effects, psychsocial function, surveillance, and prevention (Knowledge, Competence, Performance, Patient Outcomes).
