Long-standing orthopedic group joins Houston Methodist

1 Minute Read

Twelve orthopedic surgeons with the Bone & Joint Clinic of Houston joined Houston Methodist Orthopedics & Sports Medicine on Oct. 1.

Sherwin Siff, M.D., who has served as the chief of orthopedic service at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center for over 30 years, started the practice in the Texas Medical Center in 1970.

“We have been a private group for 45 years,” Siff said. “With the changing landscape of medicine, we thought this was the best time for us to branch out and work with an institution with similar philosophy and goals like Houston Methodist, while still maintaining our independence and providing quality orthopedic care to our patients.”

Siff says the group has been responsible for teaching residents throughout the TMC and is also involved in various research studies.

“It’s an honor for us to welcome this group of highly-skilled orthopedic surgeons to our nationally-recognized orthopedic and sports medicine department,” said Roberta Schwartz, executive vice president of Houston Methodist Hospital. “Our main focus is providing the best quality orthopedic care for our patients and adding these physicians will strengthen an already strong team.”

The surgeons coming to Houston Methodist along with Dr. Siff include: Roy B. Smith, M.D., William C. Watters III, M.D. Thomas D. Greider, M.D., Walter R. Sassard, M.D., Todd E. Siff, M.D., Marc R. Labbe, M.D., Taylor D. Brown, M.D., Eric W. Price, M.D., Kenneth D. Palmer, M.D., Robert S. Neff, M.D. and David L. Dice, M.D.

The group will continue to practice at their current locations until further notice. For more information, call 713-790-1818 or log on to www.houstonmethodist.org.
