Dr. Scott Parazynski is a renowned physician, astronaut, entrepreneur, and technology innovator with a distinguished record across multiple industries. A graduate of Stanford University and Stanford Medical School, he began his career in emergency medicine and trauma before joining NASA’s Astronaut Corps. Over five Space Shuttle missions and seven spacewalks, he helped advance space-based science and engineering; in 2016, he was inducted into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame and remains the only astronaut to have summited Mount Everest.

Scott is Founder and CEO of OnwardAir, a company developing revolutionary electric aircraft augmented by advanced control systems, and serves on the boards of several emerging technology firms.

In his part-time role as Entrepreneur in Residence at TMC Innovation, Scott focuses on leveraging his expertise to drive innovation in the medical device sector. Working with the Center for Device Innovation and clinical teams across the Texas Medical Center, he identifies critical unmet needs, guides technology development, and mentors the next generation of innovators. His mission is to help create meaningful, commercially viable devices that transform healthcare and improve patient outcomes.
