Brandi Matthews-James is the Executive Liaison for the Center for Device Innovation at TMC (CDI @ TMC). She is responsible for providing executive administrative support to Dr. Billy Cohn, Director of CDI @ TMC, as well as overseeing overall office administration.

Before joining the Texas Medical Center Innovation team, Brandi was part of the Medical Devices team at Ethicon. She supported both CDI and Dr. Cohn as a Senior Administrative Assistant for seven years. She also has three years of experience as a department coordinator in higher education at the University of Houston-Downtown and Baylor College of Medicine, respectively. She brings 12 years of experience in the medical devices and innovation arenas.

She holds a BA in English Literature and Composition from the University of Houston-Downtown and an MA in Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
