Medical Device Fellow

Vivek Sant, M.D. is a surgeon, completing his residency training in general surgery at New York University, in New York City. Having finished his third year of residency, he has had the opportunity to take time off to participate in the TMC Biodesign Innovation Fellowship.
While still a resident physician, he developed a fitness app for the Apple Watch to track rowing workouts, which achieved commercial success, with over 800 active users.
Prior to entering medicine, he studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Harvard University, where he received his Bachelor’s degree and honed his passion for coding and developing products. He completed medical school at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he successfully presented and published his surgical research findings at several medical conferences.
He brings with him a breadth of clinical experience and surgical skills, as well as a range of experience in clinical research, basic science research, teaching, mentorship and leadership. He looks forward to working with a multi-disciplinary team to develop medical devices that will advance the health care of his patients.
