Welcome to the inaugural Transplanted Organs and Mechanical Support Symposium hosted at the Houston Methodist Research Institute on April 20 – 22, 2023. Mechanical circulatory support and solid organ transplantation have emerged as the leading definitive treatment options for patients with end-organ failure. Despite limited numbers of organs available and the pandemic, survival rates have been revolutionized by greater reliability and mechanical durability, improved technology, and advancements in patient management due to evidence-based practice and research. This three-day event is designed to discuss practice in solid organ transplant and ventricular mechanical support and will focus on current and future heart, lung, liver, pancreas, and kidney end-organ dysfunction necessitating transplantation or ventricular mechanical support.

I encourage you to take full advantage of this excellent opportunity to network and build your knowledge as we dare to explore best practices and advancements in Transplanted Organs and Mechanical Support!
