The Bobby R. Alford, M.D., Grand Rounds Distinguished Lectureship at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, in Kleberg Auditorium on the main Baylor campus, will feature guest speaker Dr. Kim Rathmell, the Hugh Jackson Morgan Professor and Chair of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Her talk, “Metabolic Adaptations in the TME – Renal Cell Carcinoma,” will summarize tumor cell intrinsic and extrinsic factors in cancer, with a focus on renal cell carcinoma, examining possible opportunities for diagnosis or treatment. A reception will follow the lecture. The lectureship is endowed by the Diana Helis Henry and Adrienne Helis Malvin Medical Research Foundations in honor of Dr. Bobby Alford, Baylor alumnus and longtime chair of the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and later chancellor and Distinguished Service Professor.
