Join us on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. in MSB 3.001 of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth for the Dean’s Lecture presented by Charles Cox, M.D. . Cox is the George and Cynthia Mitchell Distinguished Chair in Neurosciences; the Glassell Family Distinguished Chair; the James H. “Red” Duke, Jr., MD, Distinguished Professor in Surgery; and director of the Pediatric Surgical Translational Laboratories and Pediatric Program in Regenerative Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He also directs the Pediatric Trauma Program at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital.

Through the Pediatric Translational Laboratories and Pediatric Trauma Program, Cox works to address problems that originate with traumatic injury, as well as the consequences of resuscitation and critical care. The program focuses on progenitor cell-based therapy for traumatic brain injury and related neurological injuries. It also develops novel biohybrid organs using cell-based and tissue engineering approaches to trauma- and injury-related problems.
