Breast cancer is the most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer deaths amongst women in the United States. Incidence rates
of breast cancer have been increasing since the mid-2000s and have been steadily decreasing due to awareness and improved screening and
treatment. Primary care providers play an essential role in breast cancer prevention as well as during and after treatment.
The conference aims to provide primary care providers from various backgrounds with important breast cancer updates that can be incorporated into their practice and help bridge the rapidly widening gap between primary care and the latest knowledge about risk factors,
current screening methods and guidelines, state-of-the-art multimodal treatment, and issues related to survivorship and quality of life.
Primary care physicians, internists, family medicine practitioners, hospitalists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, residents, fellows, and medical students will benefit from this course.
