Overview
This activity will offer safe and appropriate use of opioids for cancer pain, which is of utmost importance in view of the national opioid crisis. Clinicians are required to act as gatekeepers by mitigating the potential harms associated with inappropriate opioid use while ensuring their rational and effective use in the treatment of cancer pain. This is possible when they utilize opportunities to enhance their knowledge and competencies in the use of opioids. The 5th Pain and Opioid Crisis Seminar seeks to provide healthcare providers the unique opportunity to achieve such competencies in their careers. It will offer cutting-edge lectures and interactive panel discussions from world expert faculty with diverse clinical and research backgrounds in pain and opioids. This exciting educational event will provide practical evidence-based guidance and solutions to address clinical, public health, and legal issues related to the use and nonmedical use of opioids. Attendees will obtain up-to-date information and acquire high-quality knowledge while earning valuable CME and NCPD credits as well as Maintenance of Certification (MOC) points from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).
