2024 Houston Methodist CV Nursing Conference: Matters of the Heart: Leading the Way
This conference focuses on critical aspects of cardiovascular nursing patient care. Attendees will learn from various Houston Methodist cardiovascular clinicians on topics such as shared decision-making, cardiogenic shock, hemodynamics, and more. Additionally, attendees will have a hands-on learning opportunity at the MITIE Lab featuring the “Tour Through the Heart,” an interactive session guided by Houston Methodist cardiovascular surgeons to better understand cardiac anatomy.
Educational Objectives:
• Recognize effective optimization methods before cardiac/cardiovascular surgery to improve patient outcomes.
• Formulate strategies for managing postoperative cardiovascular surgical complications.
• Understand aortic stenosis and TAVI as a treatment option and the difference between the different valves offered.
• Discuss heart failure and devices used to manage cardiogenic shock/severe heart failure.

Houston Methodist is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Houston Methodist will award 6.5 nursing professional development contact hours for this activity. Participants
