Melissa F. Peskin, PhD, and Belinda Hernandez, PhD, MPH, of the UTHealth School of Public Health Center for Health Promotion and Prevention will be featured speakers at the 2024 Carla Diaz-Lewis Domestic Violence Lecture Series. Peskin is a professor and vice chair at the Houston campus, and Hernandez is an assistant professor at the San Antonio campus.

The annual series presents prominent speakers at Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston and was established through a gift from Carla Diaz-Lewis and her husband, Kenneth Lewis. Its aim is to teach health care providers and community members how to identify and assist victims of domestic violence.
