TMC Innovation Factory Hosts HealthTech Accelerator Bootcamp Week.

  • Of the twelve digital health and medical device companies that arrived in Houston to contend for a spot in the Accelerator program, six were selected.
  • Hailing from 3 different continents, these companies are addressing solutions across a broad spectrum of healthcare challenges.
  • Experienced medtech entrepreneur Zaffer Syed enlisted to expand TMCi team expertise available to Accelerator participants.

Twice a year, the TMCi Accelerator for HealthTech brings together a group of promising entrepreneurs who are united in their mission to shape the future of healthcare. The program is designed to support digital health and medical device startups at various stages of growth, providing them with access to experts in clinical validation, funding, and go-to-market strategy, all within the world’s largest medical center.

From a diverse and highly competitive pool of over 100 applications, 12 start-ups were selected from around the globe to participate in Bootcamp, an experience that readies them for Accelerator participation. “These startups are tackling significant challenges facing our healthcare ecosystem not only locally, but also globally. We are delighted to bring together solutions in the areas of maternal health, enabling care at home, nursing support and education, oncology, and neurology, to name a few,” shared Devin Dunn, Head of the HealthTech Accelerator.

TMCi is also excited to welcome Zaffer Syed as an Entrepreneur in Residence supporting and guiding these incoming companies.  Zaffer is an experienced medtech entrepreneur with a strong track record of successfully developing and bringing healthcare innovations to market. “Participation in the Accelerator can certainly fast-track growth for early-stage startups,” says Zaffer Syed. “I am eager to work with the caliber of companies entering Bootcamp and to watch what they will achieve with the dedicated support of the TMCi team.”
