Innovative TMC3 Collaborative Building, Anchored by Leading Research Institutions, to Become Central Hub of Texas Medical Center's New Life Science Campus
250,000-square-foot building to enable translational research initiatives for The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Texas A&M University Health Science Center, The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and Texas Medical Center
Anchored by $1.8 billion in secured financing, 37-acre TMC3 positions Texas Medical Center as a global life science leader. The TMC3 master plan, which encompasses approximately 6 million square feet of anticipated development, was designed by Boston-based Elkus Manfredi Architects, a key player in shaping several of Massachusetts’ leading life sciences clusters.
The Texas Medical Center is working to build institutes that foster collaboration across all 61 member institutions. These institutes were selected following a strategic planning meeting in January 2014 during which member institutions CEOs, city and community leaders gathered to discuss the future of life sciences.
