- Evening academic courses and developmental classes are scheduled for the spring 2000 semester Houston Community College-Southeast's new Health Science Center, located at 1900 Galen Drive in the Texas Medical Center. Courses will include composition, developmental reading, composition for foreign speakers, mathematics, U.S. history, introduction to psychology, Spanish, speech. The semester begins Jan. 18. January at the Museum of Health & Medical Science
Jan. 6, 8, 9: Weird Science Weekend: Space Hoppers. Learn about the ups and downs of gravity with hands-on activities. Programs available in Spanish. Jan. 8: Weird Science Saturday with weird scientists Ernie and Maria will conduct experiments first performed by astronauts in space. Also, hands-on activities. Open during museum hours is the Amazing Body Pavilion - huge sculptures of body organs and more than 80 interactive audio and video kiosks and displays. And in the center of the Grand Hall is a giant kaleidoscope where visitors can use their amazing eyes to view beautiful colors and patterns. Discovery carts and mini classes in anatomy also add to the Museum's unique experience. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and noon-5 p.m., Sunday. For information, call 713-521-1515.
