Trees of Light Ceremony Dec. 3
The Hospice at the Texas Medical Center's Fifth Annual Trees of Light Ceremony will take place Sunday, Dec. 3, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the front lawn of the hospice, located at 1905 Holcombe Blvd. The historic mansion that houses the Hospice once belonged to the late Mayor Oscar Holcombe. The ceremony will consist of a brief program, the lighting of the trees, and musical entertainment. The outdoor ceremony has become a favorite for hundreds of Houstonians whose loved ones are memorialized and honored during the event. The trees in the front and back lawns are adorned with tiny white lights that can be reserved with a gift of $10 per light. Each sparkling white light on the trees commemorates the life of a friend or family member, or represents a special occasion, and will shine throughout the holiday season. In addition, the fifth in a series of Angel of Hospice handmade ceramic, any-occasion ornaments may be purchased for $23 each gift boxed, or $40 each framed, plus shipping and handling. The Hospice at the Texas Medical Center is known for its specialized physical, emotional and spiritual care of terminally ill patients, regardless of their ability to pay. All proceeds benefit the patient care, research and education programs of The Hospice at the Texas Medical Center. For angel ornaments or lights reserved to honor or memorialize a loved one, call 713-677-7131. ©2006 Texas Medical Center E-Mail: tmcinfo@texmedctr.tmc.edu URL: http://www.tmc.edu/tmcnews/11_01_00/page_10.html |
