Mrs. Ford Receives 1999 Denton A. Cooley Leadership Award

Betty Ford has received the 1999 Denton A. Cooley Leadership Award. It was presented to her at a reception chaired by Bobby and Judy Shackouls; more than 900 people were in attendance. Mrs. Ford has received the Presidential Medal of Freedom and is well known for co-founding one of the premier facilities for alcohol and drug recovery. Mrs. Ford also helped raise the nation's consciousness about women's health during her bout with breast cancer.
