It’s Official, It’s Open!
Fine Dining Comes to the Texas Medical Center

After a grand opening party Oct. 5, where close to 1,000 guests sampled Executive Chef Alan Ashkinaze’s cuisine for the first time, Trevísio is officially open.

“We are so excited about Trevísio and the amazing response that has resulted from the success of opening night,” said chief operating officer and general manager Stephen Fronterhouse. “Houston diners are returning again and again to embrace the modern-Italian menu and the elegance of the tranquil atmosphere that the restaurant has to offer.”

All menu options have been carefully planned by Ashkinaze, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, the country’s foremost training ground for celebrated chefs.

“The menu combines the basics of Italian food with the indigenous flavors of the Mediterranean regions and gives it an Americanized twist,” says Ashkinaze. “The dishes are rich in flavor, but not overly complicated. The presentation is elegant and simple. The products used are the freshest and finest available and I am excited with the diners’ reactions.”

Some of Trevísio’s signature dishes include roasted sea scallops with warm asparagus, tomato compote and parmesan vinaigrette; sliced pastrami of foie gras with apple salad and grilled country bread; seared striped bass with caramelized fennel, fingerling potatoes and capers; veal scaloppini with spinach gnocchi and lemon caper jus; and bucotinni with manila clams and mussels, oven blasted tomatoes and garlic herb broth.

“Never before has the Texas Medical Center been thought of as a destination for dining, but I already see the signs pointing to Trevísio on the culinary destination map,” said David Edwards, Trevísio manager and owner of downtown Houston’s popular Mercury Room, Boaka Bar and Zula restaurant.

Trevísio serves lunch from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and dinner from 5 to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Breakfast is available in the adjoining Roma Room on weekdays from 6:30 to 10 a.m.

Trevísio is located on the sixth floor of the new John P. McGovern Texas Medical Center Commons at 6550 Bertner Ave. at Moursund Street, offering panoramic views of the Texas Medical Center and downtown. The Commons, adorned with 64-foot exterior water walls and choreographed fountains, features six levels of parking and a first-floor food court.

Trevísio features a variety of conference, meeting and special event rooms, and can accommodate up to 500 guests for special events. Reservations are recommended, but not required.
