Emily Crosswell, Woman of the Year 2001 The Women's Business Support Network will honor Emily Crosswell as the 2001 Woman of the Year at its 16th annual celebration on Thursday, Nov. 1. Crosswell has dedicated her time to the pursuit of women achieving their goals in education, business and community involvement. She has served on numerous business and community boards of directors, and is currently the chairwoman of CowParade Houston 2001. At the Nov. 1 celebration, the network will present scholarships to women returning or continuing their education after overcoming unexpected adversity in their lives. The event is presented by the United Service Association for Health Care, an ongoing supporter of the Women's Business Support Network's scholarship program. Tickets for the event are $50 per person. The banquet and silent auction will be held at the Junior League of Houston, located at 1811 Briar Oaks. The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m., and seating is limited.
