M. D. Anderson's "Living Fully with Cancer" Patient Conference is Sept. 24-26 Hundreds of cancer survivors, their families, friends and health care professionals from Texas and the nation will gather this month for a conference that has become an annual celebration of survivorship. The "Living Fully with Cancer" conference Sept. 24 and 25 will be at the Houston Marriott Westside Hotel. The Anderson Network, a unique patient support organization of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, is sponsoring the 11th annual event. Speakers include: Dr. Nancy Dickey, president of the American Medical Association; Dr. John Mendelsohn, president of M. D. Anderson; and Art Berg, motivational speaker, best-selling author and world-class wheelchair athlete. In addition, speakers at more than 20 breakout sessions will provide the latest information on research, treatment and health care, opportunities to learn coping skills and advice on how to enhance quality of life. A $60 registration fee includes all sessions and meals for both days. The conference begins at 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24 and ends with a Celebration of Life Birthday Party complete with cake, balloons and prizes at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25.
