Unusual Assortment of Local Celebrities Help Children at Shriners Hospital

Thanks to the antics of "Intern Tony" from the Dean and Rodge morning show on KKRW-FM Classic Rock 93.7 The Arrow, and "Chilly," the official mascot for the Houston Aeros Hockey Team, patients at Shriners Hospital for Children were recently entertained, while the hospital received a donation from the local celebrities.

Starting at 5:45 a.m. on the morning of the event, Tony dressed up in full clown makeup and attire with help from Official Shrine Clown Don Billings. Starting at approximately 6:20 a.m., Tony traveled in a miniature red racer Shrine car, followed by Chilly on a hitched trailer, to deliver a check to the hospital. The "Arrow and Aeros" caravan traveled via Richmond, Kirby, Holcombe, and Shamrock to Shriners Hospital on Main Street.

During a recent Aeros hockey playoff game, 93.7 The Arrow's Dean, Rodge and Intern Tony (in full hockey regalia), conducted a shoot-out for charity and raised money for Shriners Hospitals.

They then traveled from the radio station, starting from Richmond and the 610 Loop, to Shriners Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. During their travels, they were escorted by Shrine members and police escorts. Arriving by 8 a.m., Tony and Chilly were greeted by Shriners Hospital patients. Shipley's Donuts and their mascot "Glaze" were on hand donating donuts for patients and families to enjoy.

The check was presented to Steve Reiter, Shriners Hospital administrator, and Joe Zettlemoyer, Shrine Arabia Center Potentate, by Intern Tony, Chilly, and Aeros goalie Jason Elliott.
