3rd Annual Houston International Community Health Summit, Sept. 23-24 by KRISTINA VAN ARSDEL Texas Medical Center News Health care experts from as far away as Australia, Panama and Mexico will share their insights on the delivery of health care services to diverse populations during the third annual Houston International Community Health Summit, on September 23-24, 1999. The two-day conference, featuring presentations and workshops, will be held at the Crowne Plaza Houston Medical Center. Health care professionals from local, national and international organizations will present their knowledge and experiences - the challenges they face every day and the solutions they seek to address those challenges. "This conference is a forum to identify and compare outreach strategies while fostering an understanding of cultural beliefs and socio-economic barriers that influence health care delivery," says Dr. Maria Ferris, conference chairperson and assistant professor of pediatrics at The University of Texas-Houston Medical School and medical director of International Affairs at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
