www.law.uh.edu/healthpathfinder/ The Health Law and Policy Institute of the University of Houston Law Center has introduced an exciting new page on its Web site - the Health- Pathfinder. (See address, above.) "We think the site will be highly useful to consumers, researchers and anyone interested in health and health law," says Mark Rothstein, JD, the Hugh Roy and Lillie Cranz Cullen Distinguished Professor of Law and director of the Health Law and Policy Institute. "There is just a wealth of information available for nearly all topics of health care, but knowing how to access the many Web sites can be pretty daunting." HealthPathfinder lists over 40 health topics alphabetically. Each topic serves as a link to Web sites devoted to that topic. For example, the HealthPathfinder topic "Medicare/Medicaid" links the user to the following Web sites: Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA); HCFA's Medicaid Consumer Information; HCFA's Medicare Consumer Information; Department of Health and Human Services Campaign to Fight Medicare Fraud and Abuse; Medicare + Choice Rules; National Bipartisan Commission on the Future of Medicine; Office of Workers' Compensation Programs; Social Security Information for Parents; and State Medicare Information. Other topics of HealthPathfinder include Alzheimer's, Bioethics, Bone Marrow and Blood Donation, Children's Health, Clinical Trials, Diabetes, Elder Law, End of Life, Food Safety, Financing Health Care, Food Safety, Genetics, Health Insurance, Heart Disease/Stroke, Mental Health, Organ Donation, Pharmaceuticals, Reproductive Health and many others. The site is maintained by Melanie R. Margolis, research professor at the Health Law and Policy Institute. ©2006 Texas Medical Center E-Mail: tmc-info@tmc.edu URL: http://www.tmc.edu/tmcnews/08_15_99/page_03.html |
