Virtual Tour of Texas Children’s Now Online

Patients and families who come to Texas Children’s Hospital can now get a glimpse of the hospital before they leave home.

Texas Children’s Web site, accessible at www.texaschildrenshospital.org, now features a virtual tour, which allows patients and families to preview Texas Children’s campus, waiting areas, clinics and patient rooms. The tour also includes fun diversions such as Texas Children’s food court on the third floor of the outpatient clinic and a section of the family services floor in the inpatient West Tower.

"The virtual tours are one way we provide comfort to our patients and families about visiting the hospital," said Leigh McLeroy, director of Internet marketing. "Having an idea of what to expect beforehand is very reassuring."

In addition to virtual tours, the Texas Children’s Web site also provides other Internet services to assist parents with their family’s health care needs, including:

• Tips for Parents – a comprehensive library of fact sheets and other information on children’s health topics.
• Online Parents’ Connection – provides parents with monthly newsletters, secure discussion boards and informative tips on pediatric health and safety.
• Find A Doctor – allows parents to search for a Texas Children’s pediatrician or pediatric subspecialist.
