Summer Camp Registration Under Way at Museum of Health
& Medical Science Warm days outside and summer camps inside, make for a cool time at the John P. McGovern Museum of Health & Medical Science with Summer Discovery Camps, June 10-August 2. Camps will be held Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. "Before & After" care is also available with "Before" care staring at 8 a.m. and "After" care held until 5:15 p.m. Week-long summer camps will educate, entertain and ignite the interest of all kids ages 6-13. Youngsters can learn how to dissect a sheep’s brain, go on an adventure to find and learn about bugs, or get into "detective mode" to solve a mystery. They’ll have fun creating their own plants, making magical creatures, and learning about worms and gross things. Plus mini-med school classes will pique their curiosity about the world of health and medicine. Engaging field trips to hospitals, medical laboratories and different medical facilities will give kids an inside look at what it’s like to be a doctor and/or work in the health and medical field. Camps are divided into age groups of 6-7, 8-10 and 11-13. Registration is under way, and can be made by fax, mail, Internet or walk-in. Rates for camps range from $135-225 per week, depending upon museum membership/non-membership and topic. Kids are required to bring a sack lunch and a snack. For more information or to receive a registration form, visit http://www.museumofhealth.org, fax the registration form to (713) 942-7055, or drop by the museum at 1515 Hermann Drive. ©2006 Texas Medical Center E-Mail: tmcinfo@texmedctr.tmc.edu URL: http://www.tmc.edu/tmcnews/04_15_02/page_13.html |
