Meetings & Special Events

Project Linus is a national quilt- and blanket-making organization. The quilts and blankets are given to seriously ill or traumatized children (neonatal through teen years) in Houston-area hospitals. Quilting groups or individuals can donate complete quilts or blankets, material scraps or gift certificates for sewing supplies. Over 170,000 quilts and blankets have been donated. Houston Community College-Southeast will be offering five-week courses (beginning May 30 and ending June 30) and 10-week courses (beginning May 30 and ending Aug. 11) at the Health Science Center location on the Texas Medical Center campus. Courses will include English Composition, Fundamentals of Speech, Fundamentals of Math, Human Growth and Development, Anatomy and Physiology, Psychology of Personality, Intermediate Algebra, Computer Applications and Windows Applications.
