April Symposium Highlights Advances in Cardiac Medicine Some of the world’s foremost physicians and scientists will address the dynamic and evolving issues facing today’s cardiovascular specialists when the Texas Heart Institute hosts "Advances in Cardiovascular Medicine and Surgery" April 12 though 14. Cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, researchers and clinicians will learn about recent progress in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease, as well as assess various new treatment methods. The Texas Heart Institute is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians, and has designated this educational activity for 20 credit hours in Category 1 of the Physician Recognition Award of the AMA. Program directors for this symposium are Dr. Denton A. Cooley, founder, president and surgeon in chief of the Texas Heart Institute; Dr. O.H. Frazier, chief of cardiopulmonary transplantation and director of surgical research at the Texas Heart Institute; and Dr. James T.
