- Kaleidoscope 2000, the 17th Annual Houston Perinatal Nursing Symposium, presented by Houston and Galveston area hospitals and schools of nursing, Feb. 17-18, at the Crowne Plaza Houston Medical Center. - Children of Uganda, an 18-member ensemble performing songs and dance from their native land, Feb. 11, 7 p.m., at the Wortham Center's Cullen Theater. These children, ages 7-15, have become goodwill ambassadors to the world representing the 1.5 million orphans in their country, children left alone because of AIDS and other diseases. Funding Research - Finding Answers 50th Anniversary Exhibit. In 1998 the American Heart Association created an exhibit outlining some of the significant cadiovascular research of the last 50 years. This is a one-of-a-kind exhibit about the researchers who made wonderful advances in cardiovascular medicine.
Protect Your Little Heart - Houston Fights Heart Disease Exhibits. This exhibit portrays three Houston families who won the battle against heart disease with the help of their physicians and tireless research done by some of the finest scientists in the world.
Dr. Ferid Murad - 1998 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. An exhibit telling the story of Dr. Murad's work which led to his receiving the Nobel Prize.
Dental Health Month Poster Contest Entries. The Museum hosts the judging for this citywide poster contest. Winners will be on exhibit through February.

- New directions in cancer-related fatigue research highlight a conference here Feb. 19-20 in which top cancer specialists nationwide will discuss Cancer-Related Fatigue, New Directions for Research. In recognition of this real, but treatable side effect, The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is hosting the first-of-its-kind multi-disciplinary conference focused solely on cancer-related fatigue. Physicians, researchers, nurses and allied health professionals are invited to attend. The conference convenes at 8 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 19, Hickey Auditorium, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, with welcoming remarks by Robert Bast, M.D., head of the division of medicine at M. D. Anderson. Sessions scheduled for the first day will focus on basic science, management and intervention and treatment-related fatigue. For more information about the conference, call (713) 792-2222.
