Texas Heart Institute Receives Capital Gifts by KATHY WATSON Texas Heart Institute As construction of the new Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital - The Denton A. Cooley Building nears completion, the nonprofit Institute has recently received several contributions to "Raising the Standard – The Texas Heart Institute Campaign." The Wilson Hospital Foundation has provided a $8.5 million gift. The new museum in The Cooley Building will be named in memory of Wallace D. Wilson. In recognition of a $1.5 million gift, the primary entrance to the Cooley Building will be named the Burlington Resources Entry Plaza. The Hon. and Mrs. Hushang Ansary have contributed $1.2 million. A four-story atrium in the Cooley Building will be named in their honor. He is the former Iranian Ambassador to the United States and the current chairman of IRI International Corp. The Hamill Foundation contributed $1 million in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Claud B. Hamill, a noted Houston oilman and philanthropist. The expanded Heart Information Center in the Cooley Building will be named in honor of the Hamills. The 10-story, 327,000 square-foot Cooley Building will be substantially completed in mid-January, with patient care scheduled to begin in February.
