Physicians Featured on Jan. 20 TV Series by MEREDITH RAINE-MIDDLETON The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Two woman doctors at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston are among the female physicians featured in an upcoming episode of "Women Docs" on the Lifetime Television channel. Each episode of the reality series, which began Aug. 11, introduces four female doctors with amazing lives, unforgettable patients, and personal triumphs and sacrifices that have helped shape who they are. The episode, which airs at 10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, on Time Warner Cable’s Channel 40, will feature Dr. Rosemary Kozar, assistant professor of surgery, as she races against time to save the life of a woman whose heart was severely damaged in a car accident. Also profiled will be Dr. Latisha Smith, assistant professor of anesthesiology at UT-Houston and assistant medical director of the Center for Hyperbaric Medicine at Memorial Hermann Hospital. The unscripted series examines the challenges and triumphs for women in the medical field. UT-Houston physicians who care for patients at Memorial Hermann Hospital and Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital were among more than 80 female doctors from around the country who agreed to let film crews with handheld cameras capture the essence of their work and lives.
