by Don Faught
Houston Community College - Southeast

Linda Williams began her career with Houston Community College as chair of the one-year Occupational Therapy Assistant Program in 1983 after spending 10 years practicing occupational therapy. During this period, she was involved in the licensing process for the occupational therapy community.

Before joining the HCC-Southeast Health Science Center in 1991 as the program's clinical education coordinator, Beverly Broussard-Solomon, devoted over 20 years to the occupational therapy community.

Georgianna Wilson, who came to the HCC program in 1981 after 16 years as a physical therapist, has directed the program since 1982. She is a former chair of the Texas Alliance of Physical Therapist Assistant Educators and has contributed and co-edited four editions of a textbook, Basic Rehabilitation Techniques. Wilson has been recognized for her educational efforts, receiving a "Teaching Excellence" award from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development and the first HCC-Southeast Health Sciences Dean's Award, presented by Norma Perez, dean of the HCC-Southeast Health Science Center.

Andi Morgenthaler, the program's academic coordinator of clinical education, joined HCC in 1995 after practicing the physical therapy profession for 15 years. She currently serves as second vice chair of the Texas Physical Therapy Association's Southeastern District and trains clinical instructors throughout the nation for the American Physical Therapy Association.

Joining the program in 1994 as an instructor, following 10 years as a practicing physical therapist, Catherine Hatfield writes items for inclusion in the national physical therapist examination and, like Morgenthaler, is a reviewer of continuing education programs for the Texas Physical Therapy Association.
