Within a few blocks of the Texas Medical Center are some of the Houston's most exciting attractions and areas of interest: Hermann Park, Rice University, the Museum District, the Astrodomain complex and more. The Texas Medical Center itself offers a number of interesting exhibits and activities.

To bring a smile to the face of that special someone who is in the hospital or who works in the Texas Medical Center, most of the major hospitals operate gift and flower shops. There are also plenty of retail outlets along South Main and Fannin, in nearby office buildings an in the University Village area.
