Britni Riley is a staff writer for the Texas Medical Center news team, writing stories for Pulse magazine and for the TMC news website. In addition to her writing, Britni updates social media accounts for the medical center, sharing snapshots and happenings around campus with followers.
Britni is passionate about sharing the stories of the medical center with TMC’s readers, whether it is diving into the close relationship between art and medicine, telling patient stories or keeping TMC employees, patients and visitors up to date on the latest research being done on campus.
In her monthly column, Curated: The Intersection of Arts and Medicine, Britni explores the relationship between art and medicine by featuring exhibits around Houston and Galveston that highlight the symbiotic nature of the two. In June, she won a first place Lone Star Award for the column.
Before her days as a roving-reporter on campus, Britni studied journalism at the University of Mississippi where she also worked on the communications team and the athletic department’s media relations team. Outside of work, Britni enjoys volunteering with Life Gift and Nora’s Home as well as scoping out the Houston food scene.
