The Texas Medical Center Health Policy Institute will present the results of “The Nation’s Pulse,” its annual survey of attitudes about health policy issues, in a free, public webinar Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. CT.

The survey – which reached more than 9,000 consumers across 15 states – offers insights at a time when President Donald Trump and Congress are pursuing efforts to rewrite the federal laws that form the underpinning of the U.S. health care system.

Now in its third year, the survey asks consumers about their health insurance coverage, the quality of care they receive, the cost of health care and their views on health care reform, among other topics. Consumers were surveyed in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Washington. The states were selected based on their political breadth to ensure the survey provides insights on a broad cross section of Americans.

The webinar will also include the findings of a new, separate survey of physicians that explores their views of the health care system from their unique vantage point.
