Texas Woman’s University’s annual Parry Lecture will feature award-winning journalist and author, Suzanne Gordon. The lecture is complimentary and light refreshments will be served.

Suzanne Gordon has written for the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, the Atlantic Monthly, The Nation, JAMA, The Annals of Internal Medicine, The BMJ, and many others.

Her focus is patient safety and the importance of communication and teamwork in healthcare settings. Suzanne is the author or co-author of 10 books, including Nursing Against the Odds, Life Support: Three Nurses on the Front Lines, Beyond the Checklist: What Else Healthcare Can Learn from Aviation Teamwork and Safety.

Suzanne is a Visiting Professor at the University of Maryland School of Nursing, an Affiliated scholar with the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine’s Wilson Centre, and, with Lisa Hayes, has written a play about patient safety and teamwork entitled Bedside Manners.

The Parry Lecture is sponsored by Texas Woman’s University, College of Nursing, The Parry Endowment, and Sigma Theta Tau, Beta Beta Chapter.
