Public Religion from West to East
Join the RPLP for “Public Religion from West to East,” a panel event addressing the growth of Christianity around the globe and its effect on religions in China and other Asian countries.
Expert panelists include Michael Emerson, provost at North Park University and former Rice University professor; and Fenggang Yang, professor of sociology and director of the Center on Religion and Chinese Society at Purdue University. RPLP senior graduate student fellow Di Di will introduce the topic and RPLP director Elaine Howard Ecklund will moderate the conversation.
Following the event join us for a reception with light bites and continued conversation.

There are several options for visitor parking on Rice University’s campus. Please note that visitor parking requires payment with card.
Central Campus Garage: This is an underground garage located beneath the Jones Graduate School of Business (McNair Hall). To park in this garage, enter campus from Rice Boulevard (Entrance #20) and turn right at the second stop sign. The building and entrance to the garage will be on your left.
Founder’s Court Visitors Lot: To park in this lot, enter campus off Main Street (Entrance #1 or #2). As you drive onto campus, the lot will be on your left.
Finding Herring Hall: Herring Hall is building #41 on the Rice University campus map, accessible here. Our event will be held in room 100, which is on the first floor of the building.
