Nursing Excellence: The Art and Science of Oncology Nursing
The Oncology Nursing Society’s Position Statement on Lifelong Learning describes many areas in which to engage in lifelong learning, including the importance of “Advancing the science, art, and practice of oncology nursing….” To that end, this Conference will blend these two important domains, Art and Science.
This two-day nursing conference is designed to enhance the participating nurses’ knowledge on best practices relevant to current trends in Oncology nursing care. The program examines the nurse’s role in applying cancer genetics to care planning, administering and managing symptoms of immunotherapy and vaccines, and strategies for oral oncolytic management. Further discussions include leadership, research-driven practice and the engagement of artful and patient-centered communications. Upon completion, attendees should be able to define practical applications within local practices utilizing cited principles of nursing care.
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association – Approver, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Nurses may earn up to 14.00 contact hours for both day.
