All-City Anatomic Pathology Symposium
Over 20 speakers from various institutions in the medical center offer introduction, recapitulation and additional education pertaining to anatomic pathology for undergraduates, medical students, residents, fellows, attending pathologists, pathologists’ assistant students and pathologists’ assistants.
Grossing (macroscopic tissue sampling for diagnosis) of breast, head and neck, bone, genitourinary, gynecological, gastrointestinal, ophthalmic, explanted, pediatric, and postpartum specimens with microscopic correlation, will be highlighted.
Mohs procedure, gross teaching methods, AJCC updates, lab management, leadership expectations, medicolegal advice, tissue bank procedures, retirement investing, forensics and career development in academic medicine presentations will be presented. A poster presentation competition is available for pathologists’ assistant students, undergraduates and pathologists’ assistants. This event includes a welcoming reception at DeBakey Museum and concludes with a party at Platypus Brewing.
