A Children’s House for the Soul is offering children with chronic skin conditions and birthmarks, and their families, an opportunity to experience all the joy and discovery of Camp Dermadillo on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Family Day is designed to introduce parents and children to the happiness and freedom of attending a camp designed just for children with unique and challenging skin conditions and birthmarks. Camp Dermadillo, is a camp hosted by Camp for All at 6301 Rehburg Road, Burton TX 77835.

This wonderful fun-filled family day includes horseback riding, zip lining, Star Place ropes course, and much more. Lunch and snacks will be provided and participants will be able to spend time with others facing the same unique issues, often for the very first time. It is a day without stares and uncomfortable questions, a day where kids can just be kids. The first time away from home can be a big step for children and their parents, and Family Day offers a day to check out all the possibilities offered to children at Camp Dermadillo. Camp encourages a “Can Do” attitude and children learn the self confidence and awareness that comes from trying new things and meeting new friends. It provides children and teens that may look a little different than other kids a safe and secure place to be themselves and see a new way forward. Camp Dermadillo is a week-long experience during the summer, providing children with special challenges and needs a wide variety of activities and experiences. They share it with other children facing similar challenges. It is a barrier free camp that lets all children discover life on their own terms.

This national camp program is sponsored by the American Academy of Dermatology and held at various camp sites across the USA, with no cost to the campers or their families. The Texas camp is held each August in Burton, TX, at Camp For All. Camp for All hosts over 64 non-profit organizations and serves 7000 children and adults annually. Family Day, sponsored by a Children’s House for the Soul, is designed for children between the ages of eight and sixteen and they must be accompanied by an adult.
