Houston Hospice is thrilled to welcome Pulitzer Prize winner Gail Caldwell to speak at the 16th Annual Butterfly Luncheon on March 30, 2017. Caldwell will also sign copies of her bestselling memoir, “Let’s Take the Long Way Home,” about her friendship with author Caroline Knapp (“Drinking a Love Story”) who died seven weeks after a lung cancer diagnosis at age 42. Caldwell mines the deepest levels of devotion and courage in this gorgeous memoir about treasuring a best friend and coming of age in midlife. “Let’s Take the Long Way Home” affirms why Gail Caldwell is recognized as one of our bravest and most honest literary voices. Proceeds from the luncheon help support Houston Hospice and its Butterfly Program of pediatric hospice care.
