Program Overview
Clinicians need to understand the challenges of diagnosis and treatment of patients with pulmonary emboli (PE) and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). This two-day summit will update attendees on current advancements and care of patients including practical non-invasive diagnostic imaging techniques, the evaluation of risk and severity of the PE, the role of a multi-disciplinary team (PERT), and appropriate treatment options, including anticoagulation strategies, indications and techniques for lysis and mechanical or surgical thrombectomy. Clinicians will also be updated on the latest techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of CTEPH with the use of imaging. New treatments include pulmonary thromboendartertectomy and medical therapy, and pulmonary balloon angioplasty.
